SUPERSWEET looked up to the heavens, mapped out the stars and analysed weather patterns - this time being meticulous in our planning for SUPERSWEET ME, the third of our London live music outings with half of proceeds going to the World Wildlife Fund. No complicated fashion shows or epic tributes. Just friendly pandas and good music.
Why then, did the tube workers decide to go on strike for three days? We can only assume they did it just to really fuck us off. Maybe that’s egotistical. Maybe they had it in for Faith No More.
Complaints aside, this sound party of ours ended up being a great testament to human courage in adversity. The bands all came through, putting in magnificent performances, and more people made the trek over than we could have reasonably expected. It was an awesome turn-out and we are eternally grateful to you all. Lots of money was raised and you have earned a place in panda heaven, even if some of you were a bit socially awkward about receiving such glittering prizes in the raffle.
Providing the bionic bread for our triple-decker sonic sandwich (try saying that in casual conversation) we had our good friends the Detachments taking time out from touring with the band to spin us some tunes in our DJ booth... (continued on page 2)
