FACT – A somersault grid, sometimes called “somersault ring,” is a merge of three circles and a rhombus. It is an embellished version of the infinity sign and has become fundamental in any geometrical design ranging from the Olympic symbol, the Mercedes-Benz sign, to onion rings and bikinis.
FACT – A person suffering from Somersault Syndrome develops eccentric or repetitive behaviours, such as drawing oddly shaped circles and somersault rings. This could develop into personal rituals.
MYTH – The original layout of the Stonehenge resembled that of a somersault grid, but it was disfigured by aliens.
